Auditions

Stoneham Theatre is holding youth auditions for its upcoming Season 15 Main stage productions. Auditions will be held on Wednesday, July 30th from 3-5:30pm in the large rehearsal room at the Theatre (395 Main St, Stoneham). Please enter through the door that is two doors to the right of the main theatre entrance.

Roles include:
Pugsley (Addams Family) — 10–13 years old, ideally a bit on the large side
Tootie Smith (Meet Me in St. Louis) — 6 years old
Agnes Smith (Meet Me in St. Louis) — 12 years old
Esme (Walking the Tightrope) — 8–10 years old (non-singing role)

We will also be casting for older teens (approximately ages 16–18) to be in the ensembles of The Addams Family, Meet Me in St. Louis, How to Succeed... and Walking the Tightrope (please note: Walking the Tightrope is a play, not a musical)

Auditioners should come prepared with 16 bars of a Broadway-type song and a short monologue of your choice. If you are only auditioning for Esme you do not need to prepare a song. If you need any help in preparing or selecting audition materials, please let us know.

Please email weylin@stonehamtheatre.org with your requested time and we will confirm your appointment via email. Please indicate which role(s) you are auditioning for.

Important dates:

The Addams Family:
Rehearsals start September 26. Performances are October 16–November 9.

Meet Me in St. Louis:
Rehearsals start November 11. Performances are November 28–December 28. Note: While we do have Thanksgiving Day off, the final dress for this production is on the Wednesday evening before Thanksgiving.

Walking the Tightrope:
Rehearsals start February 24. Performances are March 12–22.

How to Succeed...:
Rehearsals start April 24. Performances are May 14–June 7.

Other information:
Rehearsals for Main stage productions with children in the cast are typically in the afterschool hours on weekdays and 10am–6pm on weekends. Rehearsals during the final week are a bit different but we still avoid school hours as much as possible. All of the shows we are currently auditioning for have senior and student weekday matinees that would require school absences for 4–10 half-days. We can provide specifics if you need them.
