HAS YOUR DOG ALWAYS WANTED TO BE AN ACTOR?
OPEN AUDITIONS FOR TWO CUTE, LOVEABLE, SMALL DOGS FOR THE MUSICAL “GYPSY” AT STONEHAM THEATRE TO BE HELD SATURDAY AUGUST 18 at 2pm

STONEHAM, MA – Stoneham Theatre’s production of the highly-anticipated musical GYPSY (SEPTEMBER 13 - SEPTEMBER 30, 2007) is all cast except for two major roles – Gypsy Rose Lee’s pooches. So of course, Metro North’s professional theatre will hold an open “Chowsie” audition at the theatre (395 Main Street, Stoneham) on Saturday August 18 at 2pm. But just not any dog may need apply. In the show, the dog gets carried around in Mama Rose's handbag and is passed around from actor to actor.

According to Gypsy director, Caitlin Lowans, “We are looking for two small (under 15 lbs) loveable dogs to fill the two roles.” She adds, “The requirements are a social personality; the ability to sit still for a period of time, a lack of fear of people, bright lights and loud noises and, of course, look cute for everyone to ooh and ah over.”

Audition Requirements: NO previous experience is required!! NO “head” shots required! We want a dog who has a dream of acting! There are no special tricks or skills involved. An actor will interact with your dog in the context of the show.
