About the Young Company

About the young co.

Stoneham Theatre's Education Mission

Through the creation of inspiring live theatre, the young co. at Stoneham Theatre develops confidence, self-discipline and collaboration to prepare young actors for future success. the young co. offers diverse year-round programs for ages 3 - 18 taught in a professional theatre environment.

Introducing live theatre to young people is one of the most important things we do. the young co. at Stoneham Theatre gives students grades 2-12 -- and now children aged 3 - 6 -- the chance to explore the experience of performing in a friendly, fun environment. Throughout the year, students may participate in workshops, rehearsals, and performances designed to develop important skills like teamwork and self-confidence.

the young co. is divided into five 'acts' based on the age of the students:

  • Playdates is for children aged 3 to 6
  • Overture is for students in grades 1 to 3
  • Act 1 is for students in grades 4 to 6
  • Act 2 is for students in grades 7 to 9
  • Act 3 is of students in grades 10 to 12
