Stoneham Theatre's Education Mission
Through the creation of inspiring live theatre, the young company at Stoneham Theatre develops confidence, self-discipline and collaboration to prepare young actors for future success. the young company offers diverse year-round programs for students in grades 1–12 taught in a professional theatre environment.
Introducing live theatre to young people is one of the most important things we do. the young company at Stoneham Theatre gives students grades 1–12 the chance to explore the experience of performing in a friendly, fun environment. Throughout the year, students may participate in workshops, rehearsals, and performances designed to develop important skills like teamwork and self-confidence.
Who Can Join the young company?
the young co. is divided into four 'acts' based on the age of the students:
- overture is for students in grades 1 to 3
- act 1 is for students in grades 4 to 6
- act 2 is for students in grades 7 to 9
- act 3 is of students in grades 10 to 12

the young co. offers many options for students of all ages and levels to explore the dramatic arts. Opportunities include spring and fall workshops, intensive winter and summer programs culminating in performance opportunities and year-round training for advanced high school students through the Resident Youth Ensemble.
