Stoneham Theatre's Education Department is seeking an intern to work closely with the Education Manager in planning and running the young company programming. Serving over 200 students grades K-12 each year, Stoneham Theatre's young company is one of Massachusetts' most exciting and unique theatre education programs. Our students are an integral part of our company, studying under the theatre's professional staff and performing on our Mainstage and in the community. Our diverse programming includes student productions of musicals, contemporary plays, and classics; private voice lessons; and eight-week courses in acting, physical theatre, playwriting, musical theatre dance, and Shakespeare. We employ approximately 75 teaching artists from the Boston area annually. Applicants must pass CORI and SORI background checks. Familiarity with Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Google Drive a plus. Responsibilities include:
• Researching, compiling, and organizing classroom materials for teaching artists
• Assisting in the creation and dissemination of marketing materials, especially social media initiatives
• Responding to parent and student phone call and e-mail inquiries.
• Other administrative tasks as assigned
ABOUT INTERNSHIPS AT STONEHAM THEATRE
Fall, Spring or full Academic Year Internships are available from 8-20 hours per week. Summer internships are available for 8-40 hours per week. Ideal candidates are current undergraduate or graduate students with a strong interest in working in professional theatre who have reliable transportation to and from Stoneham. All Stoneham Theatre internships are unpaid.
